At The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch, our elegant covered patio lounge is a favorite location for guests at our Vermont Wedding Venue to enjoy our panoramic views and outdoor spaces, including the great lawn and our wildflower meadow. There are 5 sets of double glass doors that lead to the covered patio lounge. There are three levels of lighting on the patio as well as ceiling fans and white washed wood ceilings. The lounge is central to our cocktail hours, where guests mingle while taking in the views. There is an outside bar adjacent to the patio lounge as well as our inside bar. The lounge furniture consists of two sectional lounge areas. Each sectional is comprised of a sofa, coffee table, side chairs and end tables. In between the two sectionals there are high top tables with bar stools. Beyond the covered patio, there is another patio with cafe seating for 16 guests at 4 tables. Timing is Everything....Especially on your Wedding Day!

The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is a stunning Vermont Wedding Venue. We spoke, with Steve DePalma, one of the owner operators of The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. He stated, “We want our clients to enjoy their wedding day. To that end, we strongly encourage the development of a timeline that lends itself to a stress free and seamless event day experience. In addition, it is encouraged to hire a professional to act as the day of coordinator. We offer this service where we coach and coordinate the vendor team to orchestrate an event that follows the set timeline. This will greatly ease the stress and responsibility of the couple on their wedding day”.

Soaking in the moments with your new wifey or hubs. Soaking in the music, actually eating the food and taking photos without a care about what's next in the day.⁣

Wedding Insurance for your Stowe Vermont wedding

Couples are in love when they a Stowe Wedding Venue for their Vermont Wedding Venue. However, life is full of twists and turns and at times things do not go according to plan. One of the things that both couples and venues for a New England Wedding never want to encounter is the cancellation of a wedding event. But sometimes things happen that are beyond a couple’s control or they simply have a change of heart.

We recently spoke with Steve DePalma of The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch, a Stowe Wedding Venue about the subject of cancellations and his response follows. “Venues never like to see a couple cancel a wedding. This is especially true when events are cancelled within months of the event. As a venue that is high in popularity and demand, couples quite often book years before their event. One things couples may want to consider when signing a contract for a wedding, is the purchase of cancellation insurance.. For a nominal fee couples can be covered in case of unforeseen circumstances or simply a change of heart. “

There are several companies that sell wedding cancellation insurance and depending on the company and coverage, can cover many reasons for cancellation as well as many different aspects of the event. The only company we have seen which covers a “change of heart” is Wedsure. According to their website, quotes take 15 seconds and start for a little as $95. When couples are planning destination weddings, there are many pieces that need to come together to pull off a successful event. Choosing a venue with a reputation for service and responsiveness, such as The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch, is a good start. But consideration of wedding insurance may be an option for you to consider as well.

Stowe Wedding Vendor Spotlight on Monica Flynn of Drape Art Design

Here at Stowe Wedding blog, we are focused on the covering the best of Vermont Wedding Venues and Vendors. Today, we focus on one of the most talented young designers we have had the pleasure to work with, Monica Flynn of Drape Art Design. Monica is young, but experienced well beyond her years, having known early on that wedding and event design were her calling. She channels her artistic talents into event planning and design in the form of custom draping, high end lighting, elegant furnishing and custom home sewn upholstery. Though based out of Rhode Island, we have seen Monica’s creations throughout New England and as far south as Maryland. In 2018, Monica and her talented team were chosen to design the event for the Red Sox World Series celebration.

Below is an image at newest Vermont Wedding Venue, The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. This high end event rented out two other resorts in Stowe and closed them down, except for their guests. However, this NYC wedding couple chose to have their actual wedding ceremony and reception at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. Wedding planner for this event was Jackie Watson of Jaclyn Watson Events. Destination Stowe Wedding for Boston Couple and guests from around the World

Kriti and Kunal, a Boston couple came to us with a vision and we worked together for over a year to bring it to fruition. Their Vermont Wedding Venue event included a Indian Wedding Sangeet, which was a unique and colorful event where guests from around the world performed in the main venue, while we set up luxury henna stations and Indian and Mediterranean Food Stations in a large Tent on the great lawn. Although Kriti was a Boston Bride her guests came from all over the world for this destination wedding.
