The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is a stunning Vermont Wedding Venue. Being a full service venue for your Stowe Wedding , The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch, the premier Stowe Wedding Venue, knows that developing a timeline for your wedding day is the most important aspect for a Vermont Wedding Planner to create a stress free and seamless experience for their destination weddings, Boston Weddings and NYC Weddings.
We spoke, with Steve DePalma, one of the owner operators of The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. He stated, “We want our clients to enjoy their wedding day. To that end, we strongly encourage the development of a timeline that lends itself to a stress free and seamless event day experience. In addition, it is encouraged to hire a professional to act as the day of coordinator. We offer this service where we coach and coordinate the vendor team to orchestrate an event that follows the set timeline. This will greatly ease the stress and responsibility of the couple on their wedding day”.
Further, The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is sharing this post from their Instagram page.
“Timing is Everything”
❤️
This old adage is especially true in the seamless coordination of a spectacular wedding event.

I am [very] often asked for wedding planning advice. I think that most brides and grooms expect my answer to be related to the pretty color scheme or other lovely details . . .
🌸
So they are usually a bit taken back when I immediately go to the timeline. It's my number one area of focus.
👰
Why? Because far too many couples accidentally create wedding day timelines that invite constant rushing alongside more opportunities for stress and anxiety.
🙋🏻
Which to me, is a serious no-no on the wedding day. My best advice: build a timeline that allows for more soaking in. Soaking in the moments with your people. Soaking in the moments with your new wifey or hubs. Soaking in the music, actually eating the food and taking photos without a care about what's next in the day.
😍
Spread it all out, and remember that this day will fly by as quickly as yesterday. Give yourselves a chance to be present
In the summer of 2018, Matt and Flavia chose their Stowe Wedding Venue at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. The Bride and Groom were from NYC and Brazil respectively. They chose The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch as their Vermont Wedding Venue for their destination wedding. Flavia’s sense of design directed the event towards upscale chic while her cultural heritage made certain that both the menu and the design palette were colorful. The the lush lawns, gardens, wildflowers and the surrounding Green Mountains added even more color to the event. The images below were all created by husband and wife team, Geoff & Wendy Portrait Gallery and do a good job of representing the story of this event: High End Brooklyn Chic with a Brazilian Flair! The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch loves a creative challenge and the menu for this wedding was a fusion between the cultures of the two families. The deserts were even shipped in from the couples’ favorite NYC Brazilian favorite bakery in SOHO. The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is more than happy to accommodate custom requests for their NYC Wedding couples. That is one of the benefits of working with a high-end venue that is owner-operated. “The Barn” cares enough about the details to make your vision for a dream wedding event come true. And the owners are at each event covering every detail! Enjoy the images and imagine your destination wedding or New England Wedding at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch.

Here at Stowe Wedding blog, we are focused on the covering the best of Vermont Wedding Venues and Vendors. Today, we focus on one of the most talented young designers we have had the pleasure to work with, Monica Flynn of Drape Art Design. Monica is young, but experienced well beyond her years, having known early on that wedding and event design were her calling. She channels her artistic talents into event planning and design in the form of custom draping, high end lighting, elegant furnishing and custom home sewn upholstery. Though based out of Rhode Island, we have seen Monica’s creations throughout New England and as far south as Maryland. In 2018, Monica and her talented team were chosen to design the event for the Red Sox World Series celebration.

Below is an image at newest Vermont Wedding Venue, The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. This high end event rented out two other resorts in Stowe and closed them down, except for their guests. However, this NYC wedding couple chose to have their actual wedding ceremony and reception at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch. Wedding planner for this event was Jackie Watson of Jaclyn Watson Events. Photographer was Jag Studios of NYC. For this event, Monica created custom draping and hung many disco balls.

Steve DePalma, owner of the Stowe Wedding Venue, The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch, “greatly enjoyed working with Monica. She is an artistic visionary with a young and energetic team that understand the level of effort it takes to meet the expectations of our clientele. By my personal design, our venue is beautiful of it’s own accord. But Monica has the design sensibilities to not over do things. She understands the nuances and fine line between artistic addition and distracting melange. It is always a pleasure to work with her and she how she can transform an already stunning space into something different, yet still just as beautiful. We are glad to have Monica and Drape Art Design as part of our team of vendors. Without such talented vendors that we trust to get the job done, it would be much more difficult for us to host high end destination weddings at the level that meets the expectations of our luxury event clientele”
